Board Members

Sr. Nylas Moser, ASC

Chapter Director

Sister Nylas Moser, ASC, has served  since 1997 as music minister and/or Director of Liturgy for the Adorers of the Blood of Christ in Wichita, Kansas.   A graduate of Kansas Newman College, she earned her M.A. degree in music from St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana.  Sister Nylas has taught elementary music, served in parish ministry, and has studied and taught Italian.   Sister has served in the NPM Section, Musicians Serving Religious Communities, as secretary from 2006-2009, and as Chairperson from 2009-2016.  In fall 2016, she began service as a member of the NPM National Committee for Chapters.  In June 2015, several other musicians and Sister Nylas initiated a temporary NPM Wichita Chapter.  In July 2016, at the NPM convention in Houston, the Wichita chapter was granted permanent status. 

Dave Gitchell


Dave is currently a cantor and Chancel Choir member at The Church of the Holy Cross in Hutchinson.  He is retired from over twenty-four years in the US Navy, and 15 years at McPherson College as the Director of Computer Services.  Before retiring from the Navy in 1994 and returning to Hutchinson with his family, he was a cantor and choir member in parishes in various locations, including Exmouth, Western Australia; Yokosuka, Japan; Bremerton, WA; Brunswick, ME; San Diego, CA and at sea in two of the five ships in which he served.  He is a past president of the Reno Choral Society in Hutchinson.

Charlene Dreiling


Charlene has embraced the music ministry in several parishes for over 30 years as cantor and choir member. Currently a member of the Church of the Magdalen she is a member of the Saturday evening mass choir as well as cantor. Charlene has three children and delights in her two grandchildren. She currently works as an office manager at a Wichita accounting firm.

Christopher Dean


After starting to play for Mass in the 4th grade at St. Jude Parish in Wichita, Chris is now pianist and organist at four area churches as well as the handbell director and choir accompanist for St. Vincent de Paul in Andover. While pursuing a degree in Music Education at Wichita State University, he enjoyed working with computers as an Advanced Repair Agent with Geek Squad. Now, Chris is in his 4th year as Director of Bands at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School and St. Francis of Assisi. 

Kitty Michot

Membership Coordinator & Prayer Leader

Kathryn (Kitty) Michot: Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance 1972; Master of Music in Vocal Performance 1979; Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education 1989; Master Catechist Certification in the Diocese of Wichita 2014. She is currently the choir director, organist, pastoral liturgist and music teacher at St. Jude Catholic Church and School.

Dee Ann Burke


Dee Ann is a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She has been involved in music ministry since 1965. She sings, plays piano, organ and guitar.

Jeanne Recker


Jeanne has been a choir director in the Church for the last 30 years. She plays piano and guitar at Mass and is also a cantor. She taught music at St. Edward's Catholic School in Little Rock, AR for six years. She is a mother of five and has four grandkids. Jeanne teaches private lessons for piano, guitar, and ukulele.

Kathryn Mosley

Membership Co-Chair

Kathy is a retired artist and member of St. Thomas Aquinas parish. She received her BA from Michigan State University and MA from UMKC. As a BOD member for the Wichita Chapter of NPM, she participates on the Membership Committee.

Sr. John Patrick

Ex-Officio Member

Sister John Patrick is currently the director of the Office of Worship for the Diocese of Wichita, and is a member of the Servants of the Trinity, a new initiative of religious life in the Wichita diocese.  She studied for her masters in liturgy at The Liturgical Institute on the campus of Mundelein Seminary, northwest of Chicago, IL.  Sister majored in voice and was an organ and piano minor at Immaculata College, Immaculata, PA, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  She also received certification in K-8 education and did post-graduate coursework in theology.  Sister is a native of western Nebraska.

Megan McCoy

Youth and Young Adult Chair

Megan began playing for all school masses at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in the 3rd grade. She began studying organ under Carole Pracht in 6th grade and now is an organist for St. Mark Catholic Church in Colwich. Megan is currently a junior at Andale High School and has aspirations to study organ, choral directing and sacred music in the future. 

Jim Jones

Ex-Officio, as Cathedral Music Director

BME and MM in choral conducting from SMU in Dallas, TX: Dr. Lloyd Pfautsch's grad assistant. 

Music teacher: 2 years high school in Dallas; 7 years elementary in Parochial schools in Wichita; 8 years Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Newman University in Wichita.  35 years Music Director/Choirmaster at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Wichita.
